Teddington Choral Society Christmas concert: When Icicles Hang

The variety of the program featured on the evening promises to create a performance full of magic and Christmas spirit: * Cantata No 140 by Johann Sebastian Bach also known as Sleepers Awake. Bach composed this very popular church cantata in Leipzig for the 27th Sunday after Trinity and he first performed it on 25 November 1731 * A Winter's Night by Cecilia McDowall. A five movements Christmas Cantata which incorporates several popular carol melodies well known by the public. * When Icicles Hang by John Rutter. A set of choral settings based on words from Campion, Shakespeare and Anon. * A selection of Christmas carols which will allow the audience to join the singing. Teddington Choral Society will be accompanied at the piano by Conal Bembridge.
