Season Finale: Vaughan Williams ‘Dona Nobis Pacem’ & John Rutter ‘Magnificat’
Bearsden Choir is proud to showcase the works of two of Britain's most treasured composers: Vaughan Williams ‘Dona Nobis Pacem’ & John Rutter ‘Magnificat’. Conducted by Andrew Nunn, we will be joined by the outstanding voices of Soprano Monica McGhee and Baritone Daniel Shelvey, as well as the fabulous the McOpera Ensemble. Vaughan Williams' cantata ‘Dona Nobis Pacem’ is a sombre yet stunningly beautiful work through which we are called upon to remember our shared humanity and work for peace. Written in 1936, it feels as though this powerful work and its message have just as much relevance 90 years later in today’s troubled world. We will conclude our concert with John Rutter’s amazing ‘Magnificat’ – a celebratory work that is an outpouring of joy, energy and light. We hope you will join us on Saturday 23 May as we perform this magnificent choral music in the Glasgow City Halls to conclude our 25/26 Season! Photo credit: Julie Howden Photography
