This is some text inside of a div block.

Elgar’s From the Bavarian Highlands sets words written by his wife Alice, inspired by walking holidays in the Alps. It reveals the composer’s lighter side, glowing with infectious warmth and the pleasures of the everyday. Jonathan Dove dedicated The Passing of the Year to the memory of his mother, setting seven texts that trace the shape of a human life through the turning of the seasons. We are always looking for good singers of all ages and backgrounds, especially altos, tenors, and basses. Subject to passing a singer-friendly audition you could be singing this repertoire in our concert in St Albans Abbey on 17 October. David Temple musical director Rufus Frowde piano Doors will open at 7.00pm for registration and collection of music Hertfordshire Chorus is one of the country’s foremost symphonic choirs. Conducted by David Temple MBE, it appears frequently with the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and is often broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 2. Hertfordshire Chorus 2026-27 season will also include Christmas concert ay Haileybury School and a concert to launch its new album of music by Parry and Elgar, in St Albans Abbey in January 2027.
