Friends of the Vox presents Vox Anima Chamber Choir and Vox Populi in “Moments of Wonder”, a choral concert conducted by James Meaders. The concert will feature Movements from CREATION by Dan Forrest, Meet-Cute* by Cecilia McDowall, and the three winning pieces from the Friends of the Vox Emerging Composers 2024 competition: O Oriens by Anna Rocławska-Musiałcyzk; Song of the Oak* by Molly Ijames; Alleluia* by Christopher Ryan Roncales. (* world premiere performances) Vox Anima Chamber Choir is an auditioned upper voice chamber choir who specialise in the performance of the music of living composers, giving specific emphasis to the music of female composers. Trained and conducted by Dr James M. Meaders, the choir has established a high artistic standard with an emphasis on communicative performance and innovative programming. Founded in West Malling in 2017, Vox Populi is a non-auditioned SATB choir which promotes and performs the music of living composers under the directrion of Dr James M. Meaders. It is an intergenerational choir and there is strong emphasis on community outreach.
